Herb Description
Couch Grass (Elymus repens) is a very common species of grass inherent to Europe .It has found throughout much of the world. It is a recognized as a notoriously It has creeping rootstock which enable it to grow rapidly across grassland. In summer time evergreen couch gives a beautiful green surface layer of ground containing a matt of grass and grass roots .Couch grass has hair like leaves & straight up flower spikes, Its long, yellowish white rootstock must be completely dug up to eradicate the plant because broken rootstock produce new plants.
The flower spike is 4 to 7 inches long, with spike lets almost one inches long, 5 to 7 mm broad & 3 mm thick. The
stalk of plant
mature to 47 inches tall, with linear leaves 6 to 16 inches long and more then half inches broad at the base.
It flowers in June to September. The flowers are hermaphroditic and are pollinated by Wind. The plant likes sandy, loamy and heavy soils for growth. The plant choose acid, neutral and alkaline soils and can develop in very acid and very alkaline soils. It requires dry moist or wet soil.

Dosage
4 to 8 gm or in decoction .Take three times in a day.
1:1 in 25% alcohol, 4 to 8 ml . Take three times in a day.
1:5 in 40% alcohol, 5 to 15 ml.Take three times in a day.
Drug Interactions
Some Scientific studies shows, use of couch grass with alcohol or other soporific drugs may heighten the amount of drowsiness caused by some drugs are ativan, barbiturates, narcotics , some antidepressants.
